Regardless of whether you go with a date or not, prom is your chance to shine. It's the culmination of four years of hard work and dedication, and an incredible opportunity to honor lifelong friendships. Think about what you need to make your prom perfect. Make the night your own by selecting a unique outfit or hairstyle. Here are some great survival tips that will come in handy if things don't go as planned and will help you be more prepared.

Go with a group. Going with a group has great benefits. You can dance with a bunch of different people, reminisce with pals you may not see for a long time after graduation, and avoid unnecessary pressures — especially that big one, "Should we have sex?"

Breath mints. You should carry breath mints with you in case you get served a meal with a lot of garlic or onions which will leave your breath smelling like hot garbage.

Cab Fare. Take some money with you to cover at least cab fare from the ballroom to your home in case your ride gets weird on you (this is a good reason why you should consider renting a limo).
